Using artist model Ian Jepson as my main inspiration, this mood board explores techniques and elements similar to his approach. I like the use of colours used in this genre of illustration design and think that while they are often subdued and tones of one colour, the more important element is the actual visual. This visual is often tangents of various meanings and symbols... essentially a brainstorm of rhetorical elements e.g. the pink and turquoise melting face.
For this assignment we have been asked to produce one poster, one website and one medium of our choice. Although very early days into this assignment, Flynn and I briefly discussed the idea of creating a short looping motion graphic that could serve as a music video piece, as well as online gif used in adverts on social media.
The examples below use a similar idea in the way that the movement of the motion graphics is looped and moves after each 'drop' of the bass. This could be employed into our assignment if we aim to follow a music/concert direction.
Another similar style of a looping motion graphic can be seen in Childish Gambino's 'Feels Like Summar' music video. In it, illustrator Justin Richburg portrays Childish Gambino walking down the street. This movement of him walking is looped and so much so that he looks static meanwhile the background is active.
