With this assignment I think it is important to link both our illustrative/design style with the text required on both the poster and website. To do this the font used needs to be cohesive with mood of the design piece. An example of this done well can be seen in the examples below.

Matt and Myself had a great chat to Lee about our concept of character to be seen throughout our work. We have discussed the development of our character to embodies the genre of music we have chosen to explore. We want the character to be likable and fun. We also have gone about trying to use this character into rhetoric devices. In some cases he is a hero, a pastiche of somebody funny or an everyday person. Some of these can be seen in my thumbnails below.

Dan Leydon is an illustrator I have been following for a large time now. I find that all of his work is executed in his unique tongue-in-cheek style that not only draws on his own humuor, but draws on distinct personal elements from his reference characters.

One series of Leydon's work that I really like was his 'Just Dan it'. The top two illustrations above are from this series. What I think is really successful in these, is his decision to overlay the player's name with the face and then play on the colour's opacity. The illustrative style highlights a lot of the player's shadows and contours - this is a technique I am a big fan of.
