Developments:
I started this series of concepts with the idea of exploring the similarities between the structure of a 'stereotypical' town hall and that of a piano. This leads me to the below concepts. In these, I try to explore visual flow through both the direction of the piano's keys in relation with the building's columns, as well as using negative space to draw the eye to a specific point.
I then developed the idea of a town hall's structure in combo with the piano keys. I really like the first two of the below series of concepts as I think both of them clearly visualize a link between a building's structure and piano/music.
The below series looks more into the natural disaster side of this issue and aims at using the linear shape of piano keys to symbolize an earthquake's seismometer. In the first one, I play on the idea of coming together in the way that the black piano keypads are as the type suggests, coming together. I like this idea as although it is subtle, it is quite symbolic of what communities can and often do in times of a natural disaster.
Below are two concepts that I derived from this series of developments. A problem with them and perhaps all of the concepts from this series is that the word 'together' is unnecessary, as the visual is already showing this. Therefore, the wording of a title could be improved. The fact that this is an outdoor festival is also not very apparent. Piano's are also a very classical instrument and don't particularly follow our artist's genre of music.
