2.2 - Fix & Fogg Practice Collage
This collage was designed to display the action of opening a peanut butter jar and perhaps the love and enthusiasm that so many people have for the spread. Taking influence from actual images, I designed the illustration look cartoony and vivid; all with the idea that it would be fun for the reader to look at. The collage uses a good sense of scale and visual flow through the idea of the peanuts falling out of the jar.
Overall, I really enjoy the look of this, as the vibrant pop of colour through the yellow lid and blue label initially draw the viewer in. Another aspect successful in this illustration is the perception of light reflecting on the jar. This is shown through a 20% white transparency which lies over the top of the jar and lid. This was a very element to achieve and took a lot of work, however, I feel as though with the drawing would look too flat and tame.
